Weekly Report – May 14, 2012
Spring season completion status: Corn planted 99%, Soybeans 95%, Milo 100%
… another dry weather forecast for the week and heating up (mid-80′s by end of week)
… really could use some rain but none in the forecast until next week
… as you can see, we are essentially finished with planting, just a few small patches to complete
Activities planned for week of May 14:
- Finish planting
- Two sprayers running full time, all week for post corn planting chemical application
- Start bushhogging roadsides
- Begin end of season maintenance and prepare for storage
- Get the shop back “in order” after being in the fields so much of the time over the last 8 weeks
Activities completed week of May 7:
… last week was very productive as we were in the fields working every day
- planted some corn and about 1,000 acres of soybeans
- planted all of the milo
- sprayed the planted corn acres
- applied “side dress” fertilizer on corn acres
